As far as I am aware urs you can extend visa by paying a fee for each month. Check MOI Qatar site. The visa details are there.. Extend before visa validity finishes.
Transfer of visa is possible without exiting. Can give it a try. Rarely they say the person has to exit and come back. So exit only if required.
