First of all - yes I was being racist when I called Aussies stupid. But no more so when other people including you called this woman an 'eejit' I think!
Secondly - these DJ's did not know this lady was Indian when they phoned up - in my humble opinion she did not 'get the accents'.
Do you get the difference between American/Canadian accents? Do you get all the different dialects from Australia and New Zealand? Do you get all the different accents from India etc? I could go on.
If you are a middle class Indian with good manners , humble, Catholic and who is shy and timid and you pick up the phone from Her Majesty and HRH Prince Charles what the fluck do you do? Do you say please prove it? And HOW are they going to prove it? Or do you feel intimidated and put the call through?
I agree with some posters here that there should have been a 'codeword' but there was not.
She did something so innocent - these DJ's insist it was meant not to harm and yet as soon as they were put through they carried on with the 'prank'. IF they meant no malice that should have been the time to fez up - but they did not they carried on.
Once they got what they said ' they did not want' i.e. information they hung up BUT only then to the take the right royal (scuse the pun) *iss out of both Nurses the following day.
The dearly loved dead Nurse herself by all accounts has blamed both the DJ's and the hospital.
I don't blame the hospital - I blames the DJ's. They are arrogant pr*icks who think it is ok to take the p8ss out of us winging poms - as they say so many times.
It has backfired.
Let them live with their mistake - they have left a man without a wife - two children without a mother and a family in mourning and all because they thought it funny to take the p*ss out of the Royal Family.
Are you joking????
