profession is possible to be changed.. but it take some time.. from 2 months to an year.. i have personal experience regarding that. my profession of visa changed in three months after i came to qatar..
now regarding the salary, you need to search here on QL even, may be u find someone, who can guide you properly.
as far as i think salary is very less for a Masters Degree holder
