I know for fact that not all are envious of that raise and I have some expat friends who were happy for the Qataries and were amongst the first to express that joy. I was told that I won't be amongst those who will get the raise, but I was so happy for those who got it all the same.
BUT when I read some of the comments, and believe me, they reek of envy, it just drove me mad.
It is true that some comments were heart warming as I saw that people loved to see others' joy and I sensed the sencerity in their attitude, but the rest, it pains me to say, were nothing short of sarcastic and envious.
For those who were happy for my fellow country men, I say thank you and may your life be full with happiness, joy and lots of wealth.
The rest: nahhhh I don't really care about them, after all my reputation is, as chairboy said is already established!!! :)
xena girl: I go to work daily and do my job same as everyone and last year I lost 12 days of my annual leave becaause I had no one to cover for me and do the tasks I did . I do my job without the help of any expat because I am excellent in both languages and I help others when help is needed, even the expats: so what does that make me????
Please keep your prior judgments about us at home when you go to work and look at the Qataries with open eyes: we work as much as you do, and if we spend more hours at work we don't get overtime.
Before you ask us to stop feeling angry about your comments, kindly go over them again with fresh eyes and DO tell us what we are supposed to understand. Should I quote some words:
"Locals are a disgrace in saving money"
"We do 90% of their jobs"
fatten the wallet and inflate the econmoy! well if that what's gonna tkae to keep the tape on those mouths so be it
and those are only few words of many
English is not a hard language to learn and understand and we did learn from you!!!!
