Yeah, try talking to the owner of the company directly. The guys in between are more like blood suckers who would be more then willing to see you out of the company and the country so that you cannot expose their misdeeds. I know a friend who was removed in the name of recession by a company but the higher management at the company gave him time to look around and find another job out here but his previous  manager was the one always trying to come up with something or the other to send the guy home for good. This manager did not want my friend exposing the manager  and his  SL countrymen who were busy enriching themselves and doing their own things  at the workplace.
