The life-expectancy gap is closing as women enter the workforce, which suggests the stress involved in working outside the home reduces life expectancy.  The other issue is testosterone, which gives men strength and virility in their youth, but makes them bald and cancerous in old age.  

 

BTW--men used to live longer than women on average, but then childbirth became much safer in the past two generations.

 

Also, men who marry life longer than men who don't, whereas women who marry live shorter lives than those who don't!
