Very interesting one_shot. I totally see the strategy at work generally, but I am not too sure about its application in this case. I also think that the Muslim communities around the world are doing plenty to polarize themselves, the British Muslim Council being the worst case with its recent decree that women should not be allowed to even DEBATE whether or not a veil is appropriate. Such statements don't help the moderates in France who argue that veils aren't about oppression of females and are about personal choice.

Anyway, in this case I think it is more about Playboy wanting to sell magazines. Putting her one it and saying she is German is dull. Saying she is Muslim and sales go through the roof. No conspiracy here except capitalism.
