"I dont get the logic of allowing alcohol but not pork. Seems odd that I can legally buy toxic quantities of alcohol, which consumed in high levels can endanger my health and those around me, but I can't by pork. No one ever had to worry about a friend getting behind the wheel of car after eating a ham sandwich. I get that it is a Muslim country and I'm ok with the law but I just dont get the logic of allowing the worse one but not the other."

I asked a 3 word question in the beginning of this thread, "Is it addictive?"

no it is not whereas alcohol is addictive.

anything which changes our state of consciousness, has the potential to be addictive and alcohol is obviously one of these. Drinking alcohol can turn some people into an addict, constantly craving for it. Qatar gov. identified this problem and made it available under a controlled license system. an adult has the right to take control of his/her own life and decide what is wrong and what is right for their health. reason why despite being extremely harmful to health, being behind 70% deaths worldwide due to lung cancer, cigarettes are openly available worldwide.

There are numerous other white and red available everywhere in qatar. what if there is no pork? the logic.
