1. The father of the OP works at the Emir's palace as one of the kitchen staff.
--> To the OP, you're father can't be a CHEF...he maybe a SOUS CHEF, but couldn't be the TOP MAN in the kitchen cooking for the most important family in Qatar. It's not we don't believe he's not a cook...but sweetie, there's a big difference if you say your dad is a CHEF...a SOUS CHEF, perhaps?
2. A month after his vacation, he got terminated. There are many reasons why you get terminated after vacation. Common reason would be over-extending vacation days without notice or prior approval from immediate supervisor, thus work schedule/operations got affected by this.
--> If you check Qatar Labour Law, it is legal to terminate a person (without notice) if his violation/action will cause work or financial loss to the company/employer.
3. Your father sought help to different agencies? which? The Labour Office, Human Rights, The Philippine Embassy/Phil Overseas Labor Office(aka POLO). Surely, if he approached any of the above-mentioned, he received legal advises on what to do.
4. FYI, one an employee is terminated and has an existing loan in any bank here in Qatar, the company/employer/sponsor is obliged to inform said bank that the employee is terminated and all money due to the employee will be forwarded to the bank. This is the protocol as the employer does not want to be legally accountable for the employee's salary/personal loan after separation from the company.
5. Your father could still work...IF AND ONLY IF he is given a NO OBJECTION LETTER that he could transfer sponsorship/employer. The only problem is IF the employer won't give him that "letter"
6. Your father was given a due date to settle up his existing loan...which is NOT POSSIBLE coz he don't have a job. (Let me guess, it's Mashreq Bank...lmao)
--> (your father signed blank checks) when he took the loan. His salary is forwarded to that bank where the monthly payment are dediucted automatically. He's given a deadline or the bank will file A POLICE COMPLAINT for bouncing checks...and then the police will contact your father to settle the loan OR a court case will be filed against him.
In my opinion, it would be best if this will happen. Coz then, he could explain to the court what happened and he could be given a chance to do find a job and settle his loan. The previous/employer will have no choice but to issue an NOC for him to comply with the COURT's decision.
But if the employer will not...your father will serve sentence (let's say 3 - 6 months maximum 1 year) and will get deported.
The advise for him to convert to ISLAM is sickening. But it has merit as well. know that some filipinos do this for reasons like career advancement, personal (do i need to elaborate? I don't think so).
YOU NEED ADVISE? HMMM...
If you don't want your father to go to jail, I guess the best way is for your family to come up with the money and pay his debt.
