Don't bother asking for another grade, it doesn't work like that and they are not negotiable. Each job has it's own grade and set of responsibilities and they would be fools to offer a higher grade than the job is worth.
Does the cash amount you quoted include all the allowances?
Eg Housing, education, transport, WIA and have you factored in ESB?
