In the country where karoshi (death due to overwork) and karojisatsu (suicide due to overwork) is normal, we can only imagine how seriously they compete in their work. Depression isn't surprising with such degree of competition.
They need to deal with the cause and social aspect of suicide rather than economic aspect.
