I think it is the contractor's fault as well, especially with slow repairs. The main problem seems to be that the owners don't live here so they are not that concerned with the quality of our living experience. All the landlords are different and apparently everyone is getting the same excuses. It is not really the landlords' fault in my opinion but they are ultimately responsible for providing what we contracted for and they are probably the ones who can best put the pressure on UDC to act quickly and get something done.
My wife and I have checked the pool several times a day for the past few weeks and have never seen anyone even working on it. The tiles around the perimeters were torn up over 2 weeks ago and nothing has changed o been moved from what we can see.
My wife was swimming every day and now hasn't been able to do it all month. I used the pool after my workouts a few times a week and am royally pissed that the repairs have not been completed in a reasonable amount of time. We tenants are being told "it's Ramadan, so don't expect anything to happen in normal time" but it's not Ramadan for my rent. In fact, my landlord has cashed his rent check up to 3 days early the last few months (even though it is written for the first of every month). I didn't mind when we had everything we were supposed to have, but now it makes me feel like we are just being taken advantage of. The hottest month of the year with no pool?!
Every tenant I have talked to has complained to their landlords and are all being told the same thing. Inshallah next week. But I looked at it today and I know enough to know they are at least 2 weeks from operating presuming they actually found and fixed the leaks (and there is no evidence they have).
Our lease runs through next March and we really don't want to move again but we also don't want to be taken for a ride by paying this much in rent and not getting what we are paying for.
