I don't find it dumb but somewhat stupid.

Talking about compensation package for a particular position in a company might put the writer's future employment in jeopardy.

IMO, this question should be researched online or otherwise. The companies aren't that stupid not to know who is posting what as they could deduce who's asking these questions...duuuhhh!!!

People should use their "coconuts" sometimes. I still remember some folks who ended up in hot water because of this kinds of questions on QL...
