Where's the prejudice in that? Can I not use a pronoun to reference the locals?

Many local people here DO judge English books by their covers -- because they aren't fully literate in English and so they can't accurately evaluate the text by reading it.

I've had authorities here take an English novel out of one of my amazon boxes because there was a picture of a Star of David on the cover. The book had nothing to do with Israel (one minor character in the story was Jewish), but they took it out because that symbol apparently indicated that it might somehow be bad.

Have you not seen L.Ron Hubbard's book covers? The jackets have pictures of flying pyramids, exploding vocanoes, and out of this world landscapes -- hence people who aren't skilled in reading English might mistakenly presume that the books were science fiction/fantasy books.
