West has more power because they have more people, and more taxes to gather, so they have more money to be used to UPGRADE what they have. East is small compared to them, hence less people and less tax to collect to be used to "invent" and do a "research and development". If East would focus on Superiority rather than looking at the welfare of their people, it would be pointless. Look at how SUPERIOR the west now is with the economic crisis...and compare it with the East who suffers less than theirs.
