White rice has been processed to remove the "bran" from the outside..which is the fiber part of rice. Brown rice is more nutritious and good for you than white rice. Its a bit more chewy but its got a good flavor.
Of course there are more options than rice for a carb. Try whoe grain bread..not just when it says wheat bread because those usually just add molasses for coloring, to white bread. Try potatoes...of course, limit the amount of butter you put on them...say 1 tsp..which is one serving of fat. But your body does need fat to sustain itself properly. throw in a little bit of cheese for dairy..that in itself will help you get some Vitamin D in your system
Veggies..well...best i can tell you is that you do need them. Have you ever tried juicing them? You can make some awesome drinks mixing veggie juice with fruit juices.
As far as juice here in Doha is concerned...watch out for the sugar content. Most of them that I have seen have so much sugar added its not even funny. Some of it actually has as much as a Coke!! go for fresh squeezed from the juice stalls and request no sugar added. if you like it sweeter..ask them to make a mixture of whatever juice with pineapple or banana..both are high in natural sugars
NO...juice is not enough to replace a whole meal...
If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the main difference between a dog and man.
