what many of you failed to mention is that Lebanon was actually occupied by france up until the late 40s and many schools used to teach french as a second language (and in some missionaries even as a first) maybe that's why many do speak french. Nowadays the shift in the younger generation is more toward english but surely this doesnt mean by any chance they want to be french or english!

one thing though, in light of all political and economical problems that we've been facing for so long, YES some lebanese look for a better chance in other countries especially europe and the states and truly admire the advanced way of life there.. this by no means an action to trade our identity rather than try to elevate our lifestyle, and for that YES we are guilty!
