At the clinic, we have had many people come in a panic having to board their dogs because a neighbour has called the Police because the dog was barking or simply because they had found out they had a dog and don't like dogs. With cats, it's easier but it is best to get the agreement of the landlord but I didn't come across any problems if the cats are indoors and quiet. People here sometimes think that a cat in a nearby apartment may pose a health risk or, due to ignorance, that their children may become allergic. If the cats are declawed, please make sure that if you have a maid or houseboy that they remember to keep the doors closed, it's so sad when they escape and can't fend for themselves. Poppy can help you with the relocation and advise you on every aspect of care here and I do recommend that you use a company such as QPR to help you clear customs on arrival, it is very definitely worth it!
