we don't do this for the glory, but because there is a need in Doha. All of Tallg's responses are correct and most people who know about us, know that we are not a government funded operation, but payout nearly QR30 000 a month that it costs to keep the shelter running, from donations we receive from other animal lovers.

UK, sorry to hear about the ringworm epidemic you are having in the family, yes, its true, sometime we do have problems like this that enter the shelter, but with animals coming in from all over, we don't have the luxury of screening them for health issues until they arrive with us, and by then, they have captured our hearts and we take them in regardless.... We do treat the animals once they are with us too, as our HUGE vetbill will confirm.

People seem to think we do this full time and we have a full compliment of staff running around picking up animals and servicing the public. This is QAWS in Qatar, not the RSPCA in England, or SPCA in South Africa. We are three women, with full-time jobs and families to take care of, so no, we do this in the spare time we have and because we love the animals, and their safety is paramount. If you call us, we will assist you as far as we can, but you have to go the extra mile too...

"if you don't like the heat... get out of the kitchen... but stop trying to fan the flames before you leave... it will burn you on the a** as you go through the doorway...." ME
