I'll say ... what tallg said ... disrespect is never good, but honking the horn and asking for a standard service politely should not be considered rude, lazy, ...etc.
I only honk when I want a few items (3 or less), if I want more, I would "use my legs. It's called walking, see what I do is you park my car, then I walk into the store and purchase my goods" :)
