You are not allowed into the airport unless your flight is reflecting on the flight board, so if you get to the airport more than 3 hours before your flight, you have to sit in a Visitors Lounge over the road from the Terminal until the correct time.
Once through, the screening process is hectic... Removal of jackets, anything metal, including phones, cameras from your person and your bags. They confiscated a lighter, that Doha had passed.... Then you go through the metal detector to a small cubicle where you are just short of strip searched before being allowed to collect your things...
