I was taught to drive in the UK. Consequently no problem in getting a Qatar licence as it was accepted that I had passed a stringent test, Not like the idiot somwerndmiddle who seems to think that the middle lane is the place to be as many drivers do in Qatar. Indeed i have seen websites who advise leaving the inside lane to traffic joining the road as is common in India, or letters to the press showing that driving schools here advise that u should take the shortest queue at roundabouts no matter where ure going!

A road is a conduit, if clear keep to the right! There is no fast or slow lane. A simple rule is only use the outside lanes to pass slower traffic. If everyone obeyed this simple rule there would be fewer accidents, lost tempers, damage etc. Introducing rules that lorries must keep to the inside lane ONLY has caused a lot of the traffic jams in Doha as low paid drivers approach roundabouts in the inside lane when turning to the right for fear of a fine and block the smooth flow of traffic.

Please learn from experience, do not block others passage thro ur own certainty that u have right on ur side! It is likely that someone will plough into ur car as he misjudges ur position and will send u into a collision with some very hard object which may leave u dead even if u were going only 70 kph in an 80 kph lane.
Protect ur family by driving defensibly, not by insisting on ur "rights"
