I just want to say it's more cost-effective to import things, building a car factory or electronics factory (TVs ...etc.) doesn't make sense.
Would you buy a "Made in Qatar" 32" TV at QR12,000, or get that 52" Sony at the same price?
And the market here is so tiny! If it's not a viable export, or can't find a big local market, it's not worth it to manufacture it here.
You should read Thomas Friedman's book "The World is Flat", this stuff is just one page of the introduction to the preface of the book :) .
