...I don't think most foreigners here HATE Arabs and Muslims. We get frustrated by them, confused by their behavior which if often not what we expect, irritated at all those cultural differences on occasion...but we don't HATE them.
And just because I live here, in Qatar, please don't expect me to whole-heartedly support the political policies of EVERY Arab country or group of Muslims (just as my being from the USA doesn't mean that I agree with everything my country does). I can have my own opinion about things -- different from the masses, different from other Americans, different from you. Doesn't mean I should pack my bags and go.
I understand YOUR irritation, though, because I have felt it too -- when I hear people winge and moan about how awful the US is. Yet these same people are the ones who want their kids to have a US passport, and send their children to our schools and universities because they're the best in the world. But you know what? You can complain about and criticize something and STILL acknowledge that there are some good aspects to it. Everything is not all black and white.
