I appreciate it's a bit off thread but it is amusing. In the 80's, KLM lost our son's baggage and gave him a couple of hundred dollars to buy clothes.
He went to "The Centre" which in those days was the only decent shop, to buy some jeans which at the time and as fashion dictated, all had designer tears in them.
The Centre said they didn't have any jeans as they had all arrived torn and were sent back as faulty.
