It helps bring some real clarity on the situation that dates weeeeell before Hamas' existence. It helps to form the basis of understanding of why people feel the way the do about Israel and the current situation.
There is much more than meets the eye to the Israel/Palestine conflict. It's not as simple as firing homemade rockets and responding with tanks and advanced weapons.
