I just hope the British Embassy in Dubai is more helpful than the Doha one. Everyone deserves to be represented by their home country when they are in trouble. Whilst I agree that Brits have an increasingly bad reputation in the Gulf, I also feel that the Western press will report this in a way that shows Dubai in a negative light.
Recent events will do nothing to help the tourism. I am glad that they made an example of the other famous Brit couple though, that's just plain rude wherever you are in the world.
