I have lived in Dukhan for 3 years, I love it. My other half is a teacher at the school. It is a great place to live and especially for children. QP is a great company to work for and are generous with benefits and accomodation. The facilities include 2 staff restaurants (4QR a meal for QP staff), new gym, recreation centre, pool, beach club, sailing, kids' play areas and more that I can't remember now. It is a safe and fairly harmonious community, kids go out and play on their own with no risk of strangers etc.
If you haven't worked overseas before, the best way to describe Dukhan is a bit like a UK Army Base in structure, with security checkpoints at the gates and it's own shops and facilities inside. Some people find this a bit imposing but it just depends what you are used to. Doha is about an hour away. Also the Medical care is first rate and free, after 15 years in the NHS I came here and discovered what clean hospitals and professional nurses really meant.
QP accomodation is decent sized and well maintained, they even change the lightbulbs if you want them to! Dukhan has been undergoing major renovation and as a result the place is looking a bit dusty but improving fast. Taking pictures within the town is prohibited so you'll have to use your imagination until you come!
You can pm me anytime with any questions and I will try to give you as much info as possible but obviously can't discuss anything to do with salary or job offers. Its an adventure and for me has been the best thing I have ever done
