You have to complete every achievment for the type of weapon.
Basically if I'm not wrong 150 headshots for some weapons will get you the golden camo except the Desert Eagle (I have it!). You'll get this one on Lv. 55.
There is no improvement to the gun by getting a gold skin,it only looks cool.So far I've seen golden AK-47,Dragunov and Eagle...don't know about remaining weapons.
My favourite is the tiger blue camo.
