DESS as said before is purely British and following the cirriculum from UK.
Choueifat is a mixture of british and american system. It is a very regimented school and very tough. There are a lot of exams starting from year 1. Academically it is supposed to be very good. It offers arabic or french and the main language of instruction is english.
They believe in BIG classes and 34 and more in a class is the norm.
If a child starts in the Choueifat system from an early age it will be easier for them. Coming in at a later age would be a bit of a shock for them especially if coming from a UK school.
Choueifat is like a franchaise. They have schools in many different countries, all owned individually but following the choueifat cirriculum.
