AFAIK, VoIP (Voice over IP), the service being offered by Skype to make international calls to landlines and cellfones abroad is PROHIBITED. Last month, Qtel made a spot check on some shops in Souq Najada and sofitel area, where "payphones" exist. They arrested hundreds of individuals, operators and users, of the said VoIP service. They were telling that this causes the "destabilization" of the telecoms industry for Qtel. They are also monitoring the IP traffic coming from your ADSL, just to warn you guys. I had a 2Mbps Leased Line connected to our office recently via the SDH network, and Qtel gave us the service level agreement where it states that VoIP is prohibited, unless you will inform Qtel that such service will be used on your internet.

EVERYTHING is being monitored in the internet. Forearmed is forwarned.

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!
