There is a comment in the book made by a Yorkshire Policeman - some may know him as Superintendent Andy Dalziel from the TV prog. Dalziel & Pascoe.
He likens getting a confession out of a criminal to getting a woman into bed. He says that:
"Getting a confession and getting laid have much in common - you have to be willing to listen to a lot of cr6p en route without falling asleep"
