I did an archive and install as you suggested, and afterwards was able to install SLAP 1.0 beta in my WIFE 1.0. However, the latest SLAP 1.0 beta needs DIVORCE 10.4.7, and with the new install LIVE-IN 8.5.
I tried to download a newer version of the LIVE-IN 8.5, the disk image downloaded, but then I got a message that verification failed, and when I tried to install again old WIFE 1.0 image it didn't work...
Sorry to be so clueless, but any thoughts what is meant by verification failed and how to fix the problem?
