I and my wife made many purchases from websites and we are still doing it. My suggestion is to check for websites which allow for COD 'cash on delivery'.
Recently I've been trying to find an agreement with a UK shop who asked me to pay by western union: as i didn't want to pay in advance, they proposed me to prepare a money transfer for UK but with the name of my wife or one of my friends; once I'll show them the receipt they will ship the item, and after i'll check it, I will just change the name of the Western Union (which was meanwhile kept blocked in the system) so that it will be utilizable by them.
However -sorry- but I really wonder if you need to buy a phone from other countries if you are in Doha...It's easier to find a cheap phone here than in many other countries!
buy it here, and that few money more will be worthy if in case of problems you can relate to a physical person instead to hope that someone will reply to your mails...
