I was dressed quite casually and was about to walk into a very swanky jewelry shop - the friend I was with said 'you can't go in there'!!!

My response was 'why ever not?'

I rest my case.

And believe you me, I would have been extremely peeved had I been challenged for being in there!

It's all a case of confidence ... if I'd had Ksarsar's experience I think I would have spoken up about it to someone.

Actually, Ksarsara, I just re-read your post and I'm not quite clear as to what happened to upset you!  Did they ignore you? Insult you? Refuse to serve you?

Maybe I missed something, but it seems you just said they were 'sad, disgusting and racist' but did you explain what they did to deserve those labels?
