I made the effort to come on QL to wish all Qlers a very Merry Christmas, Happy Eid and a Happy New Year, only to find this offensive post.
This time of the year is a celebration for all, so what’s with this post?? its_quddus, how can you turn such an innocent traditional act into something so sinister?
By saying we deceive children and lie to them is like saying that we should eliminate all innocent fantasies that children believe in.
Seriously, let’s abolish Harry Potter because it is all fantasy and we don’t want to deceive our children into thinking its real.
Abolish the fairy god mother, let’s not let out children read fiction because it is all a lie.
Don’t let your child watch movies such as Spiderman, batman, superman etc because super heroes don’t exist and we are lying to them by letting them watch it!!
Instead let’s bring them into this world by telling them the truth about suicide bombers, why G.Bush suxs, why there are starving children in Africa.
What is wrong with you? Is it so hard for you to understand that there is nothing sinister or deceiving about a child’s excitement on Christmas day- that it has always been a wonderful thing for children to experience -the idea that Santa does exist? It never affected me learning that Santa was not real and have never heard it affecting other children, so why is it a problem for you? Why does this concern you? Oh, could it be that you’re trying to pick on Christians??
