Your career is not decided by your certification. Many are certified but when given the real life scenario, they don't have any idea of what they are doing. I have seen and met CCNPs who are good only in theories but failed to do the actual implementation. If you are really capable of implementing Cisco Technologies hands on, then you won't have any problem certifying even if the curriculum changed. If you are the CCNP by book type, then you have a bigger problem. I was a CCNA, but i'd say i have more experience than the CCNPs that i've worked with...Certification doesn't decide for your career.
