most of the middle man are very bad they just want to keep most of the money for them like maintenance .
so if your contract says clearly that the maintenance is on him i will support wht said before go to the bank stop the payment or try to contact the owner and he will call he middle man to do it
but if there is nothing in the contract for that i think it is better to fixed from your side it will be faster
