But Lycan started out in a petshop here in Doha along with her sister who was very sick.
Lycan's original owners went in to rescue her (at QR3000 later)but they could do nothing for her sister... Long story short, a week after they bought her, they had to leave Doha and posted her here on QL (for free -a week earlier she cost them a fortune)...
I look at her everyday and see what a happy well adjusted puppy she is, and wonder what happened to her sister....
When I got Lycan, she had ringworm... which she then gave to Korin, my GSD.... She has constant stomach problems, which no matter what i feed her don't seem to go away.... both problems have cost me about QR3000 at the vets on medications and foods, and I have only had her since August.....
Buying from the petshops, is a rip off.... I know for a fact that they are getting the dogs from local people at a 10th of the price... back home... if you pay QR3000 for a dog... it better come with pedigree papers.....
I bred GSD's back home for years... Highly pedigree ones.... and I have never charged more than QR1500 for a dog..... most times they were going to pet home, but the pick of the litter would usually go to show or working homes.... and always with good pedigrees
It makes me so angry when I hear that people have paid so much for a dog, knowing that the possibility of that dog being ill with Parva (google it - its dreadful) could die within a short period of time....
Amnesia, we have such wonderful babies looking for homes.... To me.. having a husky in Doha, is cruelty.... its a dog that needs cool weather.... Lycan lives under the A/C..... and if you still wanna own a husky.... take a read on the QL pet group site... I posted something that was sent to me by a friend..... then tell me you still want one.... I have been involved with dogs my entire life... I train them, I have bred them.... but I have been very challenged by this "madam"... more than I ever thought possible....
