I've tried googling the word, but still don't understand quite what it means.

That same site (when I typed in hijabette) came up with a few references - maybe you can make head or tail of it. One minute I read it as 'bimbo' the next as 'strict hijab wearer'. I think it's probably the latter, meaning a bit fundamental about things.
