When we were living in Hong Kong we were at a company dinner and one of the courses which arrived in front of me was 'chicken feet'. I asked the Chinese bloke sitting next to me how he knew they were chicken and not duck feet. He pointed at the middle of the table and said 'because I can see the rest of it's body over there'!

I looked and sure enough there was this footless chicken as the centre piece on the table.
