The west sees rising economies that are far beyond their own and will dominate world's trade for decades in the future! So the west is thriving for marketshare when it comes to sell high-end or luxury products, to conquer and secure the market. They accepty the prices, because by the money paid, the increase the ability to pay their prices and thereby push demand for their products.
NEvertheless, the world is changing and we as westerners have to rethink where we are and may be we have to accept that we are not the world's leading economies and societies. I think that carries a chance for an even more balanced world order, but only if everyone acts with respect to the others and is not searching for his own advantage. This is my greatest concern when looking at the developments here in the gulf!
