I was born long after that day. Because my people had the courage and fortitude, I was born in a society that was free. I was born in a society that controlled its own destiny. Freedom is the breath of a society. It is the heartbeat of a country. Freedom is life.
My best wishes to all of you. We are still a young country, but I am glad that the democratic traditions envisioned by the founding fathers/mothers are still working. There are lots of challenges - corruption, social evils (dowry etc) and terrorism are on the top of the list, but I am certain that we will overcome them. enjoy the Indian Independence day.
