MUSICAL CHAIRS
If, say, 8 children present, place 7 chairs in a line, back to back. Start music; children walk round the chairs; stop music and everyone has to sit on a chair. 1 child won't be able to sit and so is out of the game.
Remove one more chair and play again until there is only one child sitting.
TIP: Keep first aid kit handy.

PASS THE PARCEL
wrap a small gift in numerous sheets of paper until it looks very large.
sit children in a circle, hand parcel to one child, start music and children pass the parcel around until music stops. The child who has the parcel when the music stops unwraps as much as he\she can before the music starts again (start it fairly quickly!), then passes the parcel on. Keep this going until one lucky child gets the present.
TIP: Have emergency aid telephone numbers handy.

BLIND MAN'S BLUFF
Blindfold one child and see if he can 'find' of one of the other children. Once he/she has 'made contact' with a friend, that friend then becomes the blind man.
TIP: Remove all breakables from the room

PIN THE TAIL ON THE DONKEY
(player is blindfolded) NOT a real ass, of course, (usually a large cardboard donkey) although that's probably what you make of yourself when you stick tail on the nose.
Each child has a go, whilst blindfolded, the 'tail' pinned nearest the place where a tail should go wins a prize.
TIP: Keep other children away from the 'donkey' whilst game in progress
