I occasionally read a forum for investors. The Bulletin Boards often have posters who 'ramp' a share up. Then there are the 'shorters' who buy and sell rapidly for a quick profit. I saw this item which I shall paste here, this morning. Just for interest's sake ...
"Only small investors, or investors who are prepared to gamble against the stock market odds, take any notice of posts on here. That’s why the rampers are all ways favoured by BB posters, they tell the punters what they want to hear, it’s the oldest trick in the world, and its in the human psyche to believe those who have good news, and disbelieve those with bad news, even when the bad news is the truth.
X buys low, after the shorters have pushed the price down, and then sells high, after the rampers have pushed the price up, that’s what makes the market. Not even X could make money without the shorter."
Bit heavy for a Saturday lol but I think I would say that the original poster was possibly 'ramping' up the stock to benefit his own interest. Why else would he share his enthusiasm on random forums. IMHO and DYOR (as we investors say)
