Wards are catogorized by the type of illness/ injury. If it's a car accident & the persons got broken bones it'll be orthopeadics. If it's a heart attack it'll be cardiac. There is more that one ward for each kind of problem, like ortho 1, ortho 2.
Mobiles usually aren't allowed in hospitals as they may interfere with certain critical equipment. Tho here I see dr's & everyone using them all the time. Don't you know the guys company? They are usually your best bet for info....good luck
