This was the only thread I could find on this subject, although I know there was another one announcing when Doha apparently fell into line with International Security Regulations.
I remember Novi asking me to let her know how it was when I flew from Doha recently.
I did my usual 'pack anything liquid in a sandwich size, clear, resealable bag'. However, unlike any other airport security I have been through in the UK recently, at Doha none of the passengers (on my flight, anyway) were requested to show the bag separately so it never left my hand baggage for inspection. Hmmmm I think they should have put plastic bag in a tray with shoes for inspection and to go through that little monitored tunnel.
Novi, you also said you had a problem in London with duty free when your flight was cancelled and you had to go through security again. This isn't quite the same situation, but when I was buying duty free goods at Doha everyone was asked if Gatwick was their final destination - if it wasn't then they seemed to treat the items differently, different tag or something (can't remember). I just recall those who would be in transit at Gatwick didn't look too happy, so maybe the goods had to travel separately, but like I said I can't remember exactly.
Only other comment I have is that I went to the departure gate at the allotted time, even though I hadn't heard any announcement. We went straight on to the plane and they closed the doors for take off. Fifteen minutes later the doors opened and it was standing room only! lol It turned out there never WAS any announcement so about three quarters of the passengers had no idea the gate was open.

We took off about an hour late!
