what is a double coat bed?
reminds me of a story of a child in post ww2 uk when everything was rationed and an ex army surplus coat was the cheapest alternative to very rationed blankets and eiderdowns. Hence the joke of the child calling his parents to tell them "johnny tore the sleeve off the eiderdown"
