I just find it amzing the number of crash test babies here in Qatar. Do people value the lives of their children so little that they don't want to keep them safe in the event of a crash or is it really Allah's will if they die? I don't belive it is lack of education. Everyone must know that seatbelts save lives and kids should be strapped in an appropriate seat.
I have lived in Saudi & Oman also. Here there is flagrant disregard for the law & safety on such a massive scale that I have incredulous moments when I am driving everyday. Is anyone scared of the police, coz I'm not, they are just roadside clowns.
It's not just the locals, we all get sloppy. But, I guess under the Darwinian theory death on the roads takes the weakest, most stupid out of the gene pool.
Maybe not the most PC of thoughts, but my thoughts anyway.
