I am sorry to hear about your child. Hopefully it will not be permanent or you will be able to find a cure. What I recommend you do is study all the different information from as many as possible different websites. This will get you familiar and educate you with the different kind of deafness problems, their name, cures, medication, tests, training etc etc. Once you know all this it will help you when you talk to the different doctors, know which test is for what and you will be able to ask educated questions. This will help you understand everything much better.
